Hi.

Thanks for stopping by! On here you'll find my photography, doodles, and stories that I hope can make your day a little more inspired. You might even have a laugh or two :)

Israel, the old

Israel, the old

Israel is my second home. My parents are from there. My whole extended family still lives there. And I've been there more times than I can remember. But this trip was different than all the rest. I hadn't been back in almost six years. It was shorter than usual-only two weeks and two of those days are spent on never-ending flights. One of my best friends had her wedding at a gorgeous kibbutz. And I had a whole lot of little adorable cousins to meet and smoosh!
I always knew that Israel was a special place. It is a place where old and new collide in ways unseen in much of the rest of the world. So first, I will show you the old. From the ruins of Caesarea to the old city of Jerusalem. It is unbelievable how long ago these were built. To think that ancient people walked these same stone steps...going to their work? To pray? To trade? To eat? The same as us. But so different. In our hectic society, we like to idealize this "simpler time". I wonder if those people did the same. Looking out to the sea. Wondering what it would be like to live hundreds of years ago.
